I haven't read it yet. As for your issue with the hooker explointation, keep in mind the audience Dini's been writing to forevers. Not only is it mainly toward Americans (who are admittedly less for such things) but for American children. I can point out many instances in his writing for Detective Comics where this tendancy is evident. It doesn't make the stories bad necessarily, but clearly shows what he's used to at this point.
Do give him a couple of issues though. I remember his first issue of Detective Comics wasn't that great but he quickly found his stride.
That's it though - I think he's trying to really prove to us he can write for grownups! With really uber dark, extreme violent, distasteful stuff! And it's like... Dini... you rule. Don't try so hard. You don't need to! You're better than this!
Oh! I see. Well then, I'll have to let you know what I think when I read it. If he is trying to hard, I hope he doesn't keep it up. Dini's work always seemed so natural, as though it were effortless.
I've been picking them up like the sucker I am but not paying strict attention. I mean everything they're doing is such a misguided mess... I'm relying on Dini to make some sense of it all!

Trust in the Dini, right? xD

That scene was disturbing. No child should have to become a hooker. Then she dies along with like 10,000 other people when Firefly burned them.
Hopefully Dini can step up the next issue quality wise. Also he wrote Dick's Batman as Bruce almost.
Harley was great though.
At lest Gotham Sirens looks promising. He has proven that he can write a great Harley/Ivy/Catwoman team.

He must be under stress. He's writing for Lost and three monthlies, that must be stressful. I have faith that he'll get better.
