Room 409: Sunday night

Blair opened the door, carrying a dozing Tributary in his arms. Looking over his shoulder at River, he pointed towards the bed.

"Wanna just shove the books on the floor for me?"

[Open for the baby's momma and the roommate if he wants to be there.]

Jeff hadn't found a laptop. He had found a computer and used that to figure out where he could find his father. "Uncle Blair!" Someday, someone will tell him that indoor voices doesn't mean everyone in the nearest rooms hears you.

Blair turned quickly and made a shushing motion at the kid, but Tributary had already woken up. He sat her on the bed and came across the room. "Hey there, um...small Broots-type person?"

Jeff grinned. "Is Dad around? I want a laptop 'cause mine vanished somewhere and Mom is going to pissssed! Who's she?" He said pointing at Tributary.

"I haven't seen him yet today, but did you check under the covers?" Blair figured that if Broots heard a kid in the room he'd have gotten up, but you never know with Broots. He turned back to glance at where Tributary was talking quietly with River. "That's my daughter, Tributary. What's your name?"

River looked exhausted. She wandered over to Blair's bed and moved the books, making space for Tributary. It was a good thing Blair had offered to let her stay in his room. The other girl - Ananda - would be more of a problem.

After Blair had left to go talk to Jeff, Tributary sat on the bed and looked at River quietly. She may not share the same psychic gift that River had, but she knew how it worked well enough to use it to her advantage. Concentrating very hard she tried to give her mom a mental hug.

River actually smiled at the warm feeling she got from Tributary, and slowly reached out to pat her head.
