but i loved every single scene, very in chara, even clarckson, talking about her impending death over tea.

I really had actual tears in my eyes reading this. It was very realistic - I hate that its even a possibility that this could happen to Elsie; but that doesn't deter from the fact that this was so well done.

This broke my heart in thousands pieces, so little that they can't even be patched back together. Where do I start?
First of all, I love the way Charles supports her, is always there for her till her last breath (and that was the worst probably). I love how Elsie trusts him enough to show him her weaker side. She's not scared of anything anymore and I'm so glad she allowed him to accompany her in her last walk.
And then there's Robert. His little moment at the end really showed his affection towards Mrs. Hughes. That was so heartbreaking too. Just as much as how everyone is aware of Carson's feelings in the situation.

I think that MrC's emotional attachment will become quite evident whatever happens now...

You took a difficult subject and wrote about it with dignity and tenderness. It was very easy to imagine Mrs. Hughes being her usual stoic self and Carson staying with her until the end. Beautifully done.
