This was absolutely amazing. I am totally in awe. The way that you weaved all the scenes together to show the disintegration of their relationship was perfect, and I loved the fact that you used "Veronica, your boyfriend's here" to show how different her summer started and ended.

I want to preface this by saying I love all your other fic, but somehow this one sat wrong with me. I loved how you wove all that we know about the summer in the fic, and I enjoyed getting a glimpse of what probably happened. From the first Dick scene, I felt the mood change and slowly showed how their relationship deteriorated. Unfortunately this didn't allow me to fully enjoy it, just knowing what was going to happen. But hey - not your fault that they broke up in canon!

The one scene that really felt wrong to me was the sex scene after the pool burned down. I can see Logan kissing her to distract her, but going beyond that felt out of character for him. He knows her history and would never push her when she didn't want it. I can't accept that Logan would do it, nor would Veronica allow him to do it.

That being said, I did enjoy the first couple scenes where they're having fun and Logan sent Dick away so he could be with Veronica. And your writing is as always - incredible.

Firstly, yes, it was hard to go from slightly fluffy to angst ahoy! It's the kind of mindset that's like "oh, they looked so happy...and now they're broken up- oh, well, here's Duncan!" Stupid RT and his stupid montages and stupid, vague flashbacks. ;)

The one scene that bothered you was the exact same that I was torn about, and the one I really, really struggled with. I in no way intended to imply he was making her do anything against her will, in fact, it was more about Veronica being torn between head (no pun intended) and heart- she shoves him away, then brings him back. She protests, then urges him on. I guess I also just wanted to show that Logan is always, consistantly, doing the wrong thing at the wrong time- Veronica's always the agressor, and when he decides to take the lead, it's the most inappropriate time to do so.

I don't know, you're probably right and I'm talking out of my ass. LOL

I love the symbolism of Veronica not knowing what she wanted and deciding that she really wanted mint chocolate chip but Duncan is butter pecan. I also thought it was very in character that Logan was upset about Duncan suddenly hanging around Java the Hut everyday...Logan's known Duncan since kindergarten and I bet the 'coffee addiction' was a new development, hence Logan's disbelief that Duncan was there for the coffee and not for his girl...
