Quick update and abit of a ramble

So this is like the first night in ages that I managed to get on the computer. I am probably not going to be 'active' for a while cos I have the most HUGE coursework deadlines to meet and as much as I hate doing this I really have to limit myself as to how much time I spend doing work I need to do i.e. feckin long essays, as opposed to work I want ( Read more... )

England is doing better that the USA, so take pleaseure in that. (See my post from yesterday for an oil rant.)

I hear you about the weather, though. I used to live in Seattle, Washington and the weather is exactly the same. I one went 48 days without seeing the sun.

I just looked at your oil rant and I agree. No one seems to understand the way we are bleeding ourselves dry. I think the latest figure I heard was it will take 200 years for our natural sources to pretty much completely run out. I think most people see it as in the future and they will be dead by then so it won't affect them. Now how selfish is that? It's not going to affect them directly but what about their families and children's children's children. If everyone thought like that the world would be a sad place indeed
Also you can't tell me that with all the technological advancements we have in the world of today someone can;t come up with an alternative energy source. I know people are trying and there have been a few ideas like electric cars. But there are still problems with them. I think the story I heard was something along the lines of they will randomly explode for seemingly no reason. However when we do get it right I will imagine there will still be some people who will, for what ever reason, not like the idea and will ( ... )

Exactly! And, chances are, at the rate we are going it will be far less than 200 years!! They are now predicting "peak" (that point in which over half the available oil to be gone) to be between 2008 and 2016. and, you're right, the running out part will be crazy. Your poor father that day!! Sadly, shit like that will happen more and more!
