i love how you set the heavy, solemn atmosphere here with your italics that are the most impactful words of the chapter. i've never read anything dealing with NK before, but the way you described it fitted how i had imagined it to be, so it's easy to drink it in. the soldier's background is making me curious, though. this is really good in a different way! hoping to read more from you soon (:
