I read that article when you Tweeted about it and found it to be a great read! As always, I love hearing about your thoughts and hopes for the future. Your kid is gonna be one lucky person. :)
I really enjoyed reading it too... I think we really will start seeing a bigger tendency toward 1-child families given the current economy, and the trend toward having children later in life. *^^*
We had our second at age 40. We like having two. They don't outnumber us; we can still do one-on-one. They're different from each other so liven up the mix. They can be responsible and irresponsible for each other. They can laugh together at how out-of-touch their parents are.
You two already have the most useful thing to pass along, your centeredness and self-knowledge. That life is a joy of discovery. Best of joys.
Ah, your kids sound awesome! :) Bet your family is a lot of fun. ♥ And you're right, one of the best ways I've found to view life is as a series of opportunities to experience new things -- that perspective does bring a lot of optimism and joy to even the less-fun parts. *grins*
*grins* You and Greta do seem to be great boy-moms! When I was working at the preschool I could always tell which moms had only boys, and which dads had only girls -- moms of boys tended to be more willing to get active and dirty with their kids. I totally see you and Greta as being great at that. You'd be super cute with a little girl, too, though! (Isn't the mystery fun?) ♥
