The "purity culture" assholes within certain factions of fandom are not only annoying, they are also just plain stupid, and while at times I would roll my eyes with their nonsense, they advocate a dangerous mindset that intentionally leads to poisoning good things just because they can. And it's infuriating, not to mention exhausting dealing with their antics. You can't really explain logic to them, no matter how many times this happens. I'm just glad the majority of the fandom community (aka actual sane and rational people) aren't giving into their nonsense and are donating to AO3 even if they didn't used to before.

The antis come out every so often, which is frustrating to deal with, but at least the general consensus within fandom as a whole is that we're all sick of their shit and will unite together to help anyone who is unfairly targeted by them. That's nice to see.

They are a very tiny contingent. I think we only feed them if we bother responding to them, to tell the truth. They have zero power. The OTW isn't going to accede to their bitching, people will continue to support at the same rate that the membership increases, all is good. :)
