You know before I came here it was always a joke that two blokes could just beat the snot out of each other and by the time they got it all out and were done they could be friends again. With all this talk of 'justice', I sort of miss that.

Not to make light of the Marquis' injuries. Just a little tired of fighting altogether lately, y'know?

If the Marquis doesn't wish for any consequences, your colleagues have no right to go against that. To be honest, they wouldn't have anyway. The only one who has is the Admiral as your employer.

And I doubt it looks nice there, considering how the CES works. But if you insist; I wouldn't mind... going outside for a bit.

Of course. Why shouldn't I be? [He raises a brow.]

All right. [She just starts walking, then, pausing to glance back to wait for him to catch up.]

[He has no problem keeping up.] Earth is such a bland planet.

No such thing. [That's the Doctor talking.] Not that I can understand it as well as some. But I look. I learn.

Yes, it is. Of course, compared to Gallifrey, every planet becomes bland. Still, it's so generic.

Everyone feels that way about their home. [Rose uses her item to get them to the abovedeck areas, then into the CES. As predicted, they come out onto a meadow, the trees surrounding it freshly green and flowers blooming. It's a temperate climate, with a gentle breeze. The scent of honeysuckles are carried on the air.]

But Gallifrey is unique. You can find green and blue anyway, but silver leaves? Red grass? Not so much.

I wish it was real. [She shuts the door behind them] I can't feel it the way that you can. But just knowing is enough.

[He looks around.] Do you miss your home, Miss Tyler? not your family -- just the planet? Or your city?

Sometimes. Little things. Safe things. Familiar things. [She crosses her arms a little self-consciously] Same as anyone who travels, yeah? There's things about that that I miss, too. Knowing where or when I'm going.

I see. Did my file say how long I was in the Divergent universe?

[She bows her head a little.] Yeah. It did.

And when I came back, the Time War was already starting. [He pauses.] I don't remember the last time I simply went on a walk back home. [Look Rose, he's telling you about his feelings! ...To deflect attention from all his other issues. He finds this sudden idea to go to the CES suspicious.]

[Her brow furrows a little.] I'm sorry. I don't know what that's like. War -- even in the time I came here, it feels so distant. I know there's lots of others who'd better understand.

This isn't about the war. I simply miss... being home. My parents had a mansion near the southern ocean, but I haven't been there [since he got divorced] since before I decided to leave my body behind and live in the Matrix.
