Title: A Chance Meeting

Pairing: Akira x Yuya

Notes: This story's a little bit of "what if" that asks the question: "What if Akira and Yuya had met before the manga storyline?"  Since I'm heavily influenced by the Right Honorable Zukinee-san in my AkiraxYuya leanings, I dedicate this fic to her.

It's cuuuuuuuute, but... Young!Akira's not bratty enough. Before Kyo left, he was a loud, out-spoken little kid. He'd probably have scoffed and just killed the "attackers" out of boredom or something.

That's not to say he wouldn't have made friends with Yuya-chan, though ^_~ You just wrote him too much like he is today, he didn't gain any of that reservation until Kyo "betrayed" him.

Really? >.< Ack, dammit, see my problem is, I had the fic about 85% done a year ago, when all I knew about Akira was from the anime *shudder* and up to volume 8 of the manga. Plus, I haven't been able to read scanlations (in English) of later volumes where they delve into Akira's brathood (I did read zukinee-san's translation of his "my life used to suck" speech, though...). I figured he was a brat toward Akari and the rest, but on his own, away from the friends who had made him human again, he fell back in on himself, and it would take an extremely unusual circumstance to jerk him out of it (like having a pretty girl almost know him over, for instance...). That, and he didn't want to scare Yuya (for whatever reason, even he if doesn't want to think about it - kids are a little more flexible in their behavior patterns, I've come to notice).

But thank you for showing me the light - all future fics dealing with Akira of the Shiseiten will have him being the epitome of little brats. (*~.^*)

I know what you mean, most of the time when Akira's with Tokito (I think he can be more honest with her than with Yuya because they are so similar) I tend to forget the snark, to have Akira be snarky and Tokito not ^^;;; It gets tricky.

Yes, epitome of brats sounds about right, but, remember, he's a NICE brat, like in Vol 16 when he offered Hotaru some food. He's a brat, just a nice one.

... right. Ya know, he's starting to sound like my little sister. (^~^) I hope she never sees that comment, she'd kill me - she thinks Akira's a brat and she dislikes him intensely for trying to break Kyo.

As much as I like Japanese fairytales, I like Thai and Burmese ones better. *shrugs* I dunno, I just do. ("The Snake Prince" for instance, that one rocked!) And I did post it to ff.net.

And yes, as I said to Aka-chan, all future delving into Akira's childhood will have him being the snarkiest little brat thatever did snark. (*~.^*)

i think I'll just channel Calvin from "Calvin and Hobbes" to get an accurate idea of what Akira was like. (starts imagining a fic where Akira is Calvin and Hotaru is Hobbes... *hehehehehehe*) Plus, i teach little kids, so there's alway LOOOOOOOOOOTS of inspiration for childhood idiosyncracies that get on adult nerves. (>.<)

I wouldn't dare do up in my attic, since it's infested with roaches and geckos, and quite possibly rats. (O_O)

I might not favor AkiraxTokito as you do, but the idea behind your fic was pretty goo, and the dialouge's amusing. And like I said in the review "Hell hath no fury..." (whompings and kinky punishment forseen in Akira's near future, ohohohohohohoho!) (*^.^*)

I read this on The Pit an hour or so ago, and it's still absolutely priceless the second time around.

Wow, you read it twice? *is flattered* i'm glad you liked it! And I imagine Yuya would be extremely up front as a little girl (remembers little side-bar cartoon of a conversation between chibi-Yuya and Nozomu) *^.^*

I used to do that with fics I liked too (only, I read them in lecture, since there were more students and the prof couldn't pick me out)

Ooooo, I love it! Yuya is awesome, and she's so matter of fact about everything she did to those bullies, and Akira imagining her walking up to Kyo and poking him in the eye is rather spot on. She'd do it if he pissed her off. ^_^

I had waaaaay too much fun writing those parts you mentioned (problem is, I wrote them in class, and started giggling at the mental images - the prof was not amused...).

Okay, I'll do snarky Akira... as soon as I get some inspiration... *looks at little sister*

Kanashimi: If you ever compare me to that @#$%^@ again, I'll kill you...

*sweatdrop* Kanashimi doesn't like Akira, but she's similar to him in some ways, more than she'd like (especially younger Akira, or so I gather from aka-chan's explantions of his younger personality!)

You know what would be interesting? If Akira went back and found Yuya by Nozomu's body . . . . *is shot*

Interesting yes, but highly implausible even by fanfic standards 1) because Kyoshiro would still be there (O_o) 2) If Kyoshiro was not there, he'd find Yuya unconscious and dying. Which would prompt him to take Yuya with him (that's what I think, and I'm sticking with it). Which would lead to Yuya to meeting the Shiseiten and Kyo abotu 4 years too early. Which would lead to a whole other storyline when Kyo found out that Kyoshiro had murdered Yuya's brother, etc., etc., etc. (@_@) I have neither strength nor skill to meet such a monumental task...

But it's a cool "what if" scenario, I'll admit! (*^.^*)
