I didn't know it was possible to die of hiccups, how awful!

And interesting that you became a Catholic! :-)

2. I sort my cany by colors/flavors and eat accorind to a pattern - usually eating my least favorites down until I have the same number of each then eating one of each in a round-robin affair.
3. I don't like my foods to touch on my plate. I like to construct the perfect mix of foods with each bite.

ME, TOO!!!

Died from hiccups? Did it cause a stroke or something? I get hiccups constantly and now I am suddenly terrified!

Yeah, hiccups, weird.

I'm not sure of my great grandpa's origins of them, but I know he had them for several days before dieing of exhaustion. My grandpa had a stroke and one of the results, along with not being able to swallow, was hiccups. I suspect a stroke was involved with his dad, too. My grandpa had them for weeks before he went, and when he was relaxed or sleeping they were very mild, but still visible. I think he was annoyed by them more than anything, but still, it takes a toll on the body.

So, no, I am not a freak for being freaked out by hiccups!

My uncle once had hiccups for several days, and then they did a surgery on him that stopped the hiccups and prevented them from ever re-occuring. I sometimes get hiccups for several hours at a time, mainly in reaction to certain foods. Hiccups are odd things but I'm glad to know that there's a surgery in case mine get stuck in the on position.
