I devoured this after dropping the girls off at school. I love the banter between Spike and Giles and the poor man's obvious obsession with the blond minx and doesn't Spike just mile it?! So funny for the most part - Spike's bewiderment at Giles cooking breakfast and singing and buying him clothes! The reference to Shirley Valentine was a hoot and you just KNOW that is one of my fave movies of all time. And the eagerly anticipated coming together of vampire and watcher...beautifully and tastefully done. I wanted more, but realise it's perfect as you portrayed it here. Your story is moving me in ways I never expected (not being a fan of Spike with anyone other than Angel). And the ending...Giles despair at 'loveless, childless, middle-aged and old,' is heart wrenching. Well done again and before I start nagging, the next chapter sounds intrigueing. hugs you for another great chapter.
