Watch Keith Olbermann insert logic vs Anti-Gay marriage madnessSo... let me get this straight. Steele says that gay marriage would take away from small businesses by having the shops pay for these 'new' families for health care, extended benefits, etc etc. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but regardless of sexual orientation, wouldn't businesses have ( Read more... )

Why don't they just come out and say they're afraid of gay people and the idea of gay marriage? It's so painfully obvious, maybe if they admitted it they could move on and see that allowing gay people to marry doesn't spell the end of the world.

Honestly is generally the best policy~! The bottom line for most people in support of gay marriage is a matter of tax rights, hospital rights, claims rights, etc etc; all things regular people who enter into a marriage don't bat an eye at being given. It's a matter of walking in peoples shoes really. How would these Republicans like to not have the right to see their loved one if they were in the hospital? Or be denied the rights to their estate in the terrible event of a spouse's death, enabling some extraneous cousins to pick a beloved's life apart for monetary bs? Or the ability to take in children that are otherwise being thrown to the proverbial wolves -no offense, puppy darling- within state-funded institutions? They wouldn't stand for it, I bet~

*hugs* In other thoughts, you're still awesome and I'm sorry your last few posts have been le sads. The job thing is evil to me too, but like you, I've been doing some commissions to pad my pockets enough to not be totally sweating it/mooching :D

Seriously, right? I was glad to see the Daily Show's Jon Stewart say something similar last night in response to this nonsense :D According to him, only the unmarryable should be in the workforce then so that these strained businesses won't have to worry about such extraneous family benefits issues.
