Ultimately, what really scares me is the obvious: if McCain didn't make a mistake with this pick, then in means America is more concerned with ideology than qualifications.
...and Americans wonder why Europe has a less than positive view of the United States.... After reading something like that, it should become quite clear --we're a backwards nation that believes in supersition,rights for those who conform to that supersition and the idea that a man isn't a real man unless he posses a gun.

We'll also ignore the fact that she's just about the most poorly qualified *major* candidate for this office. McCain knows this is a serious problem (he repeatedly promised an experienced candidate who was just as qualified to be president), so as part of McCain's damage control, he cancelled an interview with CNN as punishment for their tough questions about Palin's experience.
Ultimately, what really scares me is the obvious: if McCain didn't make a mistake with this pick, then in means America is more concerned with ideology than qualifications.
