"So I see the circus must be in town," Jin smirked as she approached the Fire Lord, recognizing him immediately.

"Uh, I, um…Yes! The circus…is in town…" Zuko replied awkwardly, his eyes grew wide as saucers as she grew near. The guards surrounding the leader grew tense as Zuko's jaw headed towards the ground.

"I'll have to go see you, I hope your juggling has improved since the last time I saw you," Jin grinned, her hands on her hips, "Nice Fire Lord costume, by the way," She added.

"Yeah, its really, really authentic since…I really am the Fire Lord," Zuko couldn't look at her as he spoke. She laughed.

"I'm not stupid, I've known that for years," Jin admitted, "I just wanted to hear it from you."

"I am a pretty high profile person, aren't I?"

"You are. And you're very good at your job," Jin said, taking a quick step closer to him, leaning in and kissing his cheek, "Well, your highness, I'm sure you're busy. I'll let you go. But I'll see you around, maybe?"

"Maybe, sure," Zuko said quickly before blushing and rushing off as fast as he could.

Jin chuckled as he disappeared. He hadn't changed a bit.

--

"Can I get you anything else, miss?" Zuko asked the woman sitting at the table. When she looked up, he recognized her. She just knew exactly where to find him, didn't she?

"What's the big and powerful Fire Lord doing waiting on little ol' me?" Jin questioned.

"I was feeling a little nostalgic," Zuko said stupidly. Jin sighed.

"Even after all these years, I still think you're adorable," she admitted. Zuko stared at her for a second before clearing his throat.

"Is there anything I can get you?" He repeated.

"You could sit down and catch up with me for a while," she suggested. Looking around the virtually empty teashop, Zuko smiled and pulled out the chair across from her and sat.

--

After a long conversation, Zuko ended up inviting Jin back to the Fire Nation.

Or rather, she invited herself.

"Wow, I never imagined it would be so beautiful here!" She exclaimed with wide, sparkling eyes.

"What did you think was here?" Zuko snorted.

"Lots of fire, volcanoes, lava monsters. Silly, I know," she laughed.

"Naw. When I was seven, my little sister had me scared to death of lava monsters," Zuko pouted.

"So they do exist?"

"No, of course not. My sister just liked messing with me. It was one of her many hobbies."

"Oh, I see…" Jin trailed off but her eyes immediately landed on a street vendor selling fire flakes, "Oooh! I want some of those!" She exclaimed, grabbing Zuko's arm and pulling him off in the direction of the vendor. He sighed.

--

"I really like it here," Jin giggled, leaning against the balcony rail. Zuko shrugged.

"Eh, its alright. Guess I'm so used to it it doesn't excite me too much," He said.

"Its so…Its so romantic here," Jin said with a wistful sigh.

"…Really?" Zuko inquired.

"Mmhmm. It's so tropical and gorgeous and it's like something right out of a fairytale, don't you think?"

"I suppose," Zuko smiled.
