Leliana yelps in pain when the talons hit their mark, although she bites her lip to keep it from being an outright scream. It's obvious she's going to lose this fight, which is frustrating but not terribly unexpected. She silently resolves to work on close-ranged combat; she's spent so long fighting with ranged weapons that this is somewhat difficult for her, and that will not do.
Impending failure, however, doesn't mean that she's giving up. She swings her unbroken arm toward Vietnam's shoulder, hoping that she's distracted enough that she can sink the knife in and possibly sever an artery.]
