"It goes ding when there's stuff."

So I was able to watch "The Wedding of River Song" and I'm sorry, but I'm still not buying Doctor/River.  I just don't find River's obsession with the Doctor and his begrudging acceptance of it to be romantic.  At all.

I'll be honest...I need to watch this again. It's not rare for me to be befuddled by a Dr. Who eppy, but I could not follow this plot line and am still confused.

*sigh*

Yeah, I think I need to re-watch it as well. The trouble is, the more I think about it, the less sense the whole episode makes!

Yep! I find it sometimes hard to understand this doc. He speaks very fast (I know, past docs did, too) and I struggle to hear everything he says. Sheesh, I sound like an old person! LOL

No, I get that - as much as I love Matt Smith, I do find him a bit mumbly at times and it takes a re-watch to catch what he's saying.

I was really disappointed with the mid-series finale so was apprehensive going into this one, but I quite liked it in the end. There was a lot that was OTT, but it felt more justified than some of RTD's 'throw in everything and add a bunch of epic angst and woe' finales.

Mm, the River/Doctor stuff. I was a bit undecided on it at first - the wedding seemed tacked on - but I came around because a) they probably have spent a fair amount of time together off-camera and out of sync, given that at the start of Impossible Astronaut he's able to match timelines with her (including "Jim the Fish") and b) it was a big and slightly horrible thing he was asking her to do, not only to kill someone she cares for but by doing so revert to the programming she's managed to throw off, and he also knew that she was going to be stuck in prison for a crime she didn't actually (isn't actually going to?) commit, so I can see why he made that gesture and gave her what he could.

He could have made it easier for everyone and just told her from the outset ( ... )

See, I think I preferred the mid-series finale, but maybe that was because of Centurian!Rory. *is shallow*

I see your point, and I guess it is in the Doctor's nature to be kind like that, and I suppose from his point of view they had gotten closer - I'll have to watch TIA again, I think! But it does make sense of "Jim the Fish ( ... )
