Do tell...

Harper decided to break his fixed-election date rule, spend 300 million (almost) on an election, and noone showed up.

We had the lowest turnout in Canadian history!

Now we have another Conservative minority; not a lot has changed.

How do you feel today?

results., election, turnout, canada, vote, participation

well. the NDP climbed 7 more seats. that's a plus. and the candidate's campaign that i volunteered on won, taking away a conservative from my backyard.

on the other hand, i would have rather spent my energy studying than campaigning given the choice. last night all i did was watch the results come in. i should have been finishing a paper.

it was a bloody inconvenience to be perfectly honest. i look for positives to make me feel better about the fact that i devoted so much goddamned time to it.

So... with all the time wasting, does this experience make you think that maybe we should adhere to a fixed election date schedule?

A little defeated but still happy that I helped contribute to the conservatives not getting their majority government. Yay!

Newton-North Delta.

It ended up being close between the liberals and the conservatives, but Dhaliwal won out. Teresa Townsley for NDP wasn't far behind though! :)

Absolutely fixed election dates.
Minority governments can always be brought down with a confidence vote.
I wonder if Dion will step down, now.
