Last night I had a pretty dramatic ambulance ride and a jolly visit to the ER due to chest pain that was quite fantastic in its intensity. It felt like a knife stuck in my right lung and went from a 0 to 9 on the pain scale in about a minute and a half or two. Those suck balls. I don't have CF but I had that happening (or something extremely like what you describe) once.

I'm glad to hear you wasted no time and took care of yourself and are okay :)

Well, they did a chest X-ray and didn't see a pneumothorax or some localized severe inflammation or anything out of the ordinary - just a regular clinical picture of severe lung disease in cystic fibrosis. So it had to be something external. And muscle cramps are pretty common in lung disease, apparently, plus I reported having them before [though not that bad]. And where it hurt, it also hurt when the doctor pressed on it.
