I think I may have mentioned it before, but I totally see Peter and Elizabeth Burke as the closer-to-real-life versions of Sam and Sybil. Or at least they'd have some really interesting double dates.
I believe that new show with the female cop and the female coroner (with Angie Harmon) has a pair of heterosexual life partners who are ladies. The other one I can think of is Leslie and Anne on Parks and Rec; those two are definitely growing old together. Maybe Liz and Jenna on 30 Rock.
They totally are! I noticed that when making the list, the "dedicated lawman/awesomely sensible lady" pairing.
Leslie and Anne, yeah, I think I've heard about their lifepartnership. I kind of feel sorry for Liz if she's stuck with Jenna forever, that lady is NUTS.
1. Morticia and Gomez Addams of The Addams Family. I mean, come on, if that's not true love right there I don't know what is. I doubt there's a soul in existence who wouldn't like to find the Morticia to their Gomez, or vice versa.
Not a couple that gets enough credit in fandom, but definitely among the best marriages.
2. JD and Turk of Scrubs. IT'S GUY LOVE, BETWEEN TWO GUUUUUYS!
Heh. Oh, these two. They're so helplessly, happily in love (in a totally manly way, of course). It's one of my favorite friendships.

Yeah, there really is nothing else I can think of on TV that quite matches that level of non-romantic devotion.
