Arrrgh this is starting to piss me off. Anybody remember a little bit ago me complaining about my stupid iPhone reading each file in my fanmix folders as a separate album, so I can't listen to, say, all of Modern Day Wooster or Lovenado, just one song at a time? I figured this was because the files were spread out into folders based on band/

Isn't Titus one of the earlier plays? I've read some stuff about it, but have never seen the actual play. Have fun seems a weird thing to say, but...have fun?
You know, honestly, with West, I think he'd be much more likely to kill everyone and/or try and get off the island by himself. I don't see him developing the protectively crazy instincts with a bunch of random people not under his command. Veronica would totally go all Warrior Woman on things, though. And Vetinari would figure out how to get off the island within half an hour and yet stay and see how long it took everyone else.

Yeah, it's Shakespeare's first tragedy. I've heard it referred to as his "Quentin Tarantino" phase. Actually, if it was presented like Pulp Fiction or Reservoir Dogs, I'd be genuinely thrilled.
Ye-eah, he wouldn't be as protective as he was over his men, but I'm leaning more towards him leaping at the opportunity of being the king of his own little world. I'm sure you're right about Vetinari- it was tricky picking characters who I thought wouldn't be able to get off the island in no time flat. Sherlock was right out, though his interaction with another sociopath like Veronica would be fascinating.

*snort* They should make a movie like that; like the Leonardo Dicaprio Romeo and Juliet, only...bloodier.
Perhaps, although I really can't see anyone listening to him at that point. Probably especially not Veronica.

They should! It would totally work.
Heh, I never said anyone would listen to him. Vetinari might play along out of curiosity, and Adelle might at least hear him out. But Veronica would instantly insist that if anyone was going to rule their new island territory, it was going to be her, and no she doesn't care that West has actual survival training that she lacks.

I may totally have to try this set of five (I need to check that comm more often---they have great memes/questions).
That's great! I wish I could get into the Halloween spirit. I guess I'm too busy right now. Those cupcakes look simultaneously grotesque and delicious (read: wonderful).
Titus Andronicus! That play is awesomely insane. Dear God, poor Livinia. I've only read that scene and seen the aftermath scene in the Taymor film, but it's absolutely horrific. It's fascinating that Shakespeare approached and tried to explore the issue of rape in the freaking late-16th century ( ... )

Doesn't it? It's great for a quick little thought exercise.
I'm hoping they come out okay, I've had good luck with my cooking lately, but cupcakes are very unfamiliar territory for me.
*sigh* I really hope they go easy on the Livinia stuff. That kind of thing is a bit of a dealbreaker for me, when it features in a story.
I've heard very good things about Aaron as a villain. We'll have to see how he's portrayed here.

Titus Andronicus really is one of those plays that you read and wonder what pissed Shakespeare off so much that he got in the mood to write that. Either that, or he was going with the mentality that still exists today: the best way to impress a crowd of people with less refined tastes (which was most of Shakespeare's audience, most likely) is to make something as gross and inappropriate as possible. :P
I'm wondering if I should add Fringe to my already-long list of TV shows to check out. I can't decide whether I would really get into it or not.

Ha, I thought the same thing! But I kind of figured he was basing it off (and/or stealing from) the Greek tragedies, which are indeed dripping with horrific violence of every shade. Titus is probably tame in comparison.
I think Fringe is great. They really know how to balance the mystery so you don't get frustrated waiting for answers, but there's still a lot of suspense and it's impossible to guess how it's going to work out. You do need to enjoy the X-Files kind of stuff though.
