Pepper had kind of had A Day. (Sadly it wasn't even close to the events of the prior summer, but still, it wasn't high on her list of Fun Times to Be Had at Work.)

Ray was still kinda pissed the perp had gotten away, but he'd dealt with it through some productive, um, water swilling and watching bad TV.

This was his life. Awesome.

He hadn't expected the knock, so when it came, it took him a minute to get up, get to the door, and open it. "...Pepper, hey."
