Author’s note: This is fairly dark, at least for me, with major Cara- and Kahlan-whumping. But after I saw the promo for “Eternity,” the idea wouldn’t leave me alone. I’d written a few pages and had the overall plot set before I saw that episode. The only thing I added afterwards was Dahlia. Didn’t plan to, but the muse insisted, so…. I also changed the time line, though it’s not explicitly mentioned; instead of less than a fortnight to get the Stone of Tears to the Pillars of Creation, I’m making it more like six weeks. What else? I know only the canon of the show, not the books, so the various Mord’Sith mentioned exist solely in my head. I’ve been working on this story so intensely that I no longer have any feel for whether it works, or doesn’t work, or is even remotely believable; feel free to share your opinion. Anyhow, hope you enjoy. If enjoy is the right word…
