I really love your Ian. And the ritual at the end and their interaction during it is wonderful.

I don't think there has been an Ian fic in the fandom over all the years that hasn't had a wonderful Ian, and I think that's because all one has to do is write Ian as we see him because He Is Just Perfect. But I'll accept your praise anyway because it makes me feel good coming from you. ♥

I'm with you on the "he is just perfect" part but disagree on finding bad Ian characterizations. I've read more than my share, believe me. That's why good ones need to be praised.

This is absolutely gorgeous. I'll be coming back to it frequently, I think.

"There have been times in Ian's life when the clarity of a moment becomes crystalline, as if the optics picked up by the nerves are defined with a razor's sharpness. [...] At these moments, when the parts are brilliantly frozen because the whole cannot be grasped, cannot make sense, Ian is left feeling profoundly alone with his maker and profoundly human.

With the passage of years, he has come to accept the emotional nakedness of these random times as something necessary for his journey. Sometimes the world does tilt sideways, for good or ill."

What richly defined characters you've created. This description is just beautiful. Thank you.

Thank you and hi! You know, it pleases me that you liked this particular passage because it is the one point of this fic that has made me uncomfortable: I found it an awkward transistion and a complete change of language. So finding that you liked it makes me feel much, much better. This happened to me in another fic not long ago: a reader really liked another passage I found abrupt, same reason. It's funny how that works;)

Perhaps it's my way of thinking. No matter how many things you realize, through epiphany or slowly, you usually change more slowly. You discover something, become aware of it and try to fix it in your memory ... and then you still need to go shopping.

Of course perhaps it's the shift that marked it for my attention. *grin* But it is definitely the ideas that caught me.
