Don't know about the first one, but the two related stories are by
azrhiaz: Shiver and Of Lilies And Remains. Both are fabulous examples of atmospheric writing.

I usually do, too, but I was so excited at being able to actually answer this query, and be useful for a change, that I rushed in like a loon. Anyway, it IS a fantastic story and she is a brilliant writer who has promised me a "thrown against the wall then kissed better profusely" Orlijah. Am on tenterhooks with anticipation :)

I believe the first story you're asking about is Wine and Snow by Mel and Beryl. I'm not sure where else it is archived except in lotr_aurps messages.
