So, that was pretty awesome :). 48k is one hell of a mini bang, and it was a hell of a read. It got pretty dark and fascinating, too. Awesome look at a possible alternative for the boys with everything still in play, like AU canon :).

Ha, yeah, I started out with an already sizeable, 20k-ish concept and then I got...well, even wordier. :D But I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed this take on things. I started out mainly with the goal of wallowing in my BoyKing!Sam and codependent!boys love (which I certainly did, lol) but also ended up really interested in exploring the ramifications of them not having John in their lives, not knowing about hunting/the supernatural, etc.

Thank you immensely for the comment and for reading!

Wow...what a steamroller of a story! I couldn't stop reading once I started and it was with this constant thread of fear, seeing all the clues pointing towards Sam's fall. It really hurt to realize that almost everyone around them had only ever had one desire, to ruin Sam, and Dean working so hard to save him, kind of ends up helping them. And when we think they've been possibly saved, it turns out to be one more betrayal.

This was so clever, so well written! The beginning had me guessing just what was going on, and the end had me hoping I was wrong.

Thanks so much for sharing this, it was a fabulous story to read!

Thank you so much! I was definitely interested in the concept the show presented with Brady and the idea that demons had been an even bigger and actively present factor in Sam's life than he knew and it seemed like a natural fit with my desire to do some kind of Boy King!Sam oriented fic. The idea of this oppressive, inescapable destiny (and Sam and Dean being so much less equipped to deal with it in this reality) really drew me in.

And it's awesome to hear that the twists and turns, Dean's struggle and inadvertent contribution to events, were all effective for you. Can't thank you enough for the kind words, they're very much appreciated!

Dean and Sam felt very canon to me in this - Dean taking responsibility for everything and Sam willing to do whatever is needed (no gray boundaries) for Sam. Gripping and had me on the edge of my seat. :)

Oh, thank you so much! I was definitely striving to have them still largely resemble their canon selves at their cores, even if some of the surface details might have changed. And I think I love plot compliments more than anything, so you are the peak of awesomeness for that.

Thanks again. :D

This story was riveting. A very neat look at canon from a different lens. =D

Thank you immensely for that! Of anything about a fic, I'm always happiest to hear that a story kept people's attention and really drew them into its world. And this one was so interesting to play around with and to chew on, and I'm thrilled to hear that it worked for you as well.

And thank you for taking the time to read. :D
