Hi!

I love how this builds slowly, and sparsely, and then it blooms. It feels rich and laconic at the same time. Superbly done!

It is what is not said as well as what is said that creates the atmosphere in this series of linked moments, where sometimes significant things happen 'offstage' between written scenes. Great Fun.

This is awesome!

I love that first meeting in the tent, wine and assessing each other. The blood oath feels very fey, which the wood-elves are so much closer to than Elrond or Galadriel's people. I love that Bard is still thinking of his wife, and the comfort and sadness of being with someone new. And I love the idea that Thranduil would also willingly surrender, once he trusted enough -- that in the end even with vast differences they respect each other as equals.

Thank you!! ♥

What a lovely read! I like how this builds slowly, and how Bard learns to see a different side to that strange being. I'm forever fascinated by how these two species must perceive each other, and how this perception sometimes changes in a surprising way.
