What a gem! I kept this as a treat, knowing I would love anything you wrote, but it was even better than I expected and gave me so much pleasure. Your characterisations are delightful, and all these little details so much fun. Elrond's anxiety about the arrival of his sons is a subject I care much about, and your take on it is as satisfying to read as it is painful, particularly seen through Erestor's eyes like this. And all this delightful back story about Haldir! I enjoyed that very much, and his left-handedness with all its consequences a brilliant side-plot (sez the left-hander with many similar problems *g* ). Erestor is very sweet with being such a klutz about it at one time, and having his own issues as well, and it's very satisfying to read their final reunion, and how Erestor helps Haldir to manage the transition into the after-war live in Valinor.
