*flails* Oh, this was magnificent! Thank you so much.

I loved how detailed this was, how deftly you set up the scene, and I love the idea of Boromir acting as envoy. The way you bring so many of the other characters (Arwen, Imrahil, Faramir...) into the story was also very elegantly done, and I'm grateful that you made Arwen sympathetic and generous rather than having her disapprove or leave the reader feeling like Aragorn was neglecting her in favour of Boromir. And oh, the quiet tenderness between Aragorn and Boromir was beautiful (and so was the heat that flared after that dance!), and Aragorn's measured question about the Anduin and the traumatic memories caused by it made my heart clench a little.

Thank you for this wonderful gift! I loved it.

Eeeee, I'm so, so glad you like it, especially about the bits about Arwen and the other characters - I worried about them, a little. It was a great prompt that you gave, so thank you for that! ♥!

I really like how you show the connection between them, the affection and incredible tenderness they share is just lovely. And I love that they meet in the garden and that everything is soft and gentle at first after so long apart.

Even though they are both warriors, they are definitely very much capable of tenderness with each other. Thank you!

This is a speaking description of what it is to return 'home', all the things that catch at the senses, and to re-evaluate that home in the light of the journey. Your Boromir is growing into his role, coming to recognise his own worth and it makes him stronger, more content. lovely.

I'm so glad you caught that! This is something that's a little bit part of Song, maybe an episode years and years later, but the days passing have definitely healed Boromir and made him even stronger. ♥ Thank you for reading, Alex!

This is an example of what I wish might have happened with Boromir if he survived: older, wiser, more tempered, but still undeniably Boromir. The sense of homecoming throughout this fic is palpable, as is the love of the two men - and of Arwen and Aragorn as well. A lovely glimpse into a happier future for the three of them.

Eee, thank you so much! I'm just glad that the characterisation rings true for you. And yes, it's a happier future, because they all deserve it. Thank you for reading!

Older, a little more tempered, and feeling it. Returning home in the nipping frost of autumn, to be greeted with anticipatory calmness by his love. Arwen sensed his need to feel, breathe and hear again... what a wise woman. And all the council getting a nearly full day off!!! Don't quibble you lot!

And Boromir, dancing in breeches and shirt only, those long toed feet starred with frost buds and broken grass. Boromir, Dancing!!! Oh a delight and Oh wish I could have watched, and gloried. He would be so graceful, as he is in all his movements... his walk especially.

And an Aragorn incapable of holding back any more.

What more could anyone want in a dreamstory. Meeeeep... So happy for these alterations to Prof Tolkiens ending for Boromir.... We all love Boromir alive, breathing and loving his King, and being loved in return.

PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, yes we do. Especially those of us who have Boromir as their favourite. :3 Thank you so much for commenting, Blue, and I'm sorry I got back to it so late!
