"My lord Aragorn is observant this night," Boromir replies.
*snicker* Ah, I love the sarcasm and irritation in this line.

I want you to be aware of every move of your body - and of your blade...
And I love the gentle, wicked tease and promise of something more that seems to slide in underneath here. ^_~

This is a fascinating tale, with so many marvellous touches. I love what you've done with the swordplay metaphor, and the fantastic use of interjected lessons. They work so beautifully to illustrate Boromir's inner struggle.

The whole is lovely, and by turns sad, bittersweet and gently happy. I love how Aragorn and Boromir are carefully working out their own relationship in the midst of a deeply complex situation. *happysigh*

This story is really wonderfully beautiful, and thank you so very much! I'm so glad you decided to participate in the exchange. ♥ *hugs* (And greetings of the season to you too! ^_^)

I'm really pleased you liked this :) I was worried it was a little too contrived with the interspersed sword-fighting tips, if you get what I mean ;) Much appreciate the feedback! *hugs*

What a beautiful tale you tell here. I love the way youmix the swordplay with the complexity of their relationship. Great!

Interesting and clever, using sword fighting discipline to illustrate the tension of their relationship. Very good many thx.

Maybe it is because I have just finished reading Ellen Kushner's Swordspoint , but the literal and figurative use of the swordfighting scenes just hit a nerve today. I was also fascinated by your style- elegant simplicity hiding elegant complexity. I realise now that this is not only a perfect description of Boromir and the layers of his relationship with Aragorn, but of any kind of martial art as well.

The uncoordinated rambling above is the best sign of my love of this story that I can give. Thank you for writing such a jewel :) *hugs*

thank you!! *hugs* I knew Galdriel wanted swordplay in both the literal and figurative sense and so I'm really pleased this worked for you :)

Very nicely done! I like the instructions interspersed within the story - it was not overdone - and to some degree, it gave a POV other than the men's.
