very nice touch on the story. to have him get this information while he'll have time to form his questions and get answers from the heirs of the ultimate authority in Shire.

Oh, I like this! And I can imagine the scene even further, as Sam returns and lets Rose know that they will be moving up the hill. Very touching, and very realistic.

I simply never understood why they didn't somehow indicate that Frodo had made Sam and Rosie housemates with himself! Am so glad you found it realistic, Dreamflower. Thank you so!

I would have you know that the offer made me is also being made to you. Those who told me that the ship on which I will sail is the “Last Ship” were, apparently, exaggerating the situation. Gandalf has assured me that Lord Círdan intends to remain within Middle Earth, making certain that all Elves who wish to return to Aman will find ships appropriate to the journey awaiting them when the time comes for each to sail; and you may sail on any of these.

Darn right! Thank you for fixing this. *beams*

Glad to oblige, Shirebound. I hated what was left out in the movies here, although from a dramatist's sense I can sort of understand why....

That certainly healed a wound the movie left in my heart. Thank you! I'm happy to know what happened to Bag End, as well. I hated that that was left unresolved!

Am glad this apparently made several folk feel that these particular holes in the movie were finally closed. I felt the lack of much of this material in the films!

How touching and sad...that letter was written so poignantly. I love post-Havens scenes like these where the three hobbits are together thinking about Frodo. Beautiful piece. =)

So glad you do, Periantari. I tried to work in much of what was said there as they joined the Elves in book-verse, so if it poignant it's due to the Master's own writing! And I, too, love thinking of that retrurn trip as Sam, Merry, and Pippin came to terms with Frodo's departure. Thank you so!
