My personal head canon is that they are delivered by courier to Bree, and then come in from there. :-D

I like this tale, but I really like Rufus! Any more stories abt him in the pipeline, possibly? :) The Professor's fault, as it were, but I'm rather fond of hobbits who are curious, probably because I'm curious abt many things.
