It seems very fitting that Nienna should have aided him in healing.
I'm also moved by the idea of Gandalf carrying him--that sting must still have been very potent still for him to suffer so.

In my-verse, Ungoliant had injected her essence into her daughter Shelob when she died, and then was injected under Frodo's skin when he was bitten and poisoned by Shelob. It was as she again tried to escape her current habitation that Frodo was taken to the Fanes for healing and removal of the irritant at the basis of his spider bite.

And I believe that Nienna's ministrations did much to restore Frodo after the Spider was removed.
