Oh, oh, oh! I was grinning and chuckling all the way through this! You managed somehow to capture the whole spirit of the play and make it hobbity! LOL! You made the Fairies so mischievous and clueless about mortals-- except for Petal, who remembers her husband and children-- and even she is not completely sure about it.

And Diamond's quite a silly lass, but I hope that she won't be quite such an airhead once she gets over Drake.

And I like Petal as a name for the Queen much better than Titania!

This was SO MUCH FUN!

So glad you like it Dreamflower! And yes, Petal is a much prettier name than Titania, which never sounded very fairyish to me...more like a giantess I should think!

And Diamond will soon become far more sensible now that she has awakened from her "dream" of a hero which was really closer to a nightmare!

Thanks for the comments!

What a truly creative and delightful tale. I especially love the idea of hobbits being the 'Big Folk' for a change. :)

Ah, a wonderful Shire-take on A Midsummer Night's Dream. You transposed the play into a more Hobbity setting very well, much to my amusement. Wonderful work!

Thank you Alphien! There is something wonderfully shakespearian about the Shire at times, perhaps about Middle-earth altogether!

Thanks Erulisse! It was a bit of a pain to write at first; I had no idea how it was going to be resolved. Guess I should have a little more faith in the Muse! LOL

Ah, but this was great fun! Loved Drake managing to reveal his true nature, and Odie as a Hobbit Narcissus! And at least Diamond is now free of the spell she wove about herself.

Enjoyed this very much!

Thanks Larner! Diamond did get a bit of a rude awakening, didn't she? And every comic villain must have a stupid sidekick, it seems. Whom else would he trust? Was going to have Drake do the Narcissus thing at first, but it didn't quite work that way. We must follow the Muse, precious!

So glad you enjoyed.
