Angsty, yes, but I love the hope in it. It concerns me, though, that Frodo isn't looking for hope because of his own desires. He's looking for hope because he doesn't want his friends to despair. It's a powerful characterization stroke, albeit a self-defeating one for poor Frodo. Nicely written!

I think during the whole two week period from Weathertop to Rivendell was always a struggle for Frodo to think of his friends and not only himself... it's the selfless part of him that i've always adored.
