I love the interaction between these two. John is tetchy. And Sherlock is loving and concerned, but still...Sherlock.

I love these fictions.

Mmm, clothing love! I can feel so much affection between the two of them, yet it's clear they don't know how to deal with the aftermath of John's combat experiences. Somehow I don't think he's going to be too happy once he finds out that Sherlock called his mother to give him something to feel useful at. Even if it came from the heart. Once again, love this verse. It's a great take on their relationship.

Haha, I couldn't help myself with the clothes! It's really interesting to explore the aftermath of John's injuries etc. within this historical context. So glad you're enjoying this - thank you for commenting!

Oh, was so excited to see you'd put up another bit! (I don't mind if it runs on for five or six parts personally...)
Ah, Sherlock, bless, you know John needs SOMETHING to do to feel useful. (And John, poor thing, so angry in the face of being useless, trying to be strong).

Ha, well, it could go that way! I need to get cracking with this week's part actually. Sherlock does his best, but he's still a bit clueless, bless him. Thrilled you enjoyed this bit! I really need to link to the artwork you've created on here - it's definitely on my to-do list. :) <3

so what is it they say, something about the path to hell being paved with good intentions? hope this isn't going to be one of those situations because poor sherlock was only trying to be a help. am taking great comfort in knowing that even if the fates play them that way our good writer will make it all right by the end.

goes back now to read again and revel in all the period details! ditto to swissmarg's comment on the clothing love, too. :)

I wouldn't worry too much about Sherlock's phone call to Mummy! ;) Thrilled as always that you enjoyed this part - I got a bit carried away with the clothes but I'm glad you and others liked the detail!
