Susan Cooper and Philip Pullman?! Oh man, I loved those books. I'm so glad we read The Dark is Rising in school and that my Catholic school teacher also recommended The Golden Compass. :D

I have The Handmaid's Tale sitting around here; perhaps I'll have to get around to it soon.

Though, confession time... I never made it to Return of the King. Couldn't finish The Two Towers when I tried; it was so damn boring. SO MUCH WALKING. Very un-nerdly of me, I know.

Hee! The Two Towers is hard, I think, because the two key narratives are split compeltely - it's like two novels. It gets frustrating. The RotK is not like that, so would be worth another go. The ending makes me blub everytime! It's so moving.

Actually, RotK is split that way but the two parts come together after the Ring is destroyed, unlike Two Towers. Sorry for jumping in like that, serious LotR fangirl here :P

I meant to include The Neverending Story in my list, but. You know.

Yeah - so many books, only 15 slots! I cheated a bit, with all the plays of Shakespeare and all the Holmes stories, but even so, ran out of room!

I mean, what about the Mr Men? Winnie the Pooh? The Hungry Caterpillar? I, Claudius? Le Morte d'Arthur? Lovely Bones? Grimms Fairy Tales? Hans Christian Anderson...

sob!
