HEAR, HEAR!!! I've been saying this to people for months now! Dear gawd, the whining...LJ isn't dead, it's nowhere near dead. My friend list is hopping with interesting and chatty people...Von and I get as many comments as we ever did. Etc. *throws hands up*

p.s.
And, oh hey, thank you for the compliment! You're pretty damn cool yourself! *beam* A lot of Von's stuff is open (not all but a lot) but all of my stuff is locked down because I'm generally talking health/work or posting pictures. But new friends are always welcome!

The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated ... I think the only thing "killing" livejournal are all the people saying it is dead. I wish they would just shut up already and let us live!

I think with your journal, you get two for the price of one! Even though the majority of the entries are friends-lock, it seems that you have a fair number of friends. Good reason too.

I need to get more people on my F-list as many post maybe once or twice a year and then some post a few times a week. It has gone DOWN, but LJ is by NO MEANS dead. I mean, they got all that hacker crap a while ago and they wouldn't have bothered if LJ was dead. There are TONS of communities on here that post everyday or sometimes more, lots more. Sure, I post onto FB more than LJ now, but for quick little one note posts do not a LJ post make. And my computer doesn't seem to LIKE LJ as much as it likes FB. Sometimes LJ won't load...especially pictures. I don't get it. I think it has something to do with Firefox because good ol' netscape works much better on image heavy posts.

I am not sure what to say about your browser ...

Social media all the same, nope, not at all. There is a reason why Livejournal is better for what I do.
- Facebook is for slightly personal status updates and for friending old people you went to high school with that you never liked enough to maintain a friendship with after graduation (and for playing pet society or farmville).
- Twitter is for brief observations and links with no actual real substance.
- Tumblr is for users to re-post your stuff with minimal or no credit.
- Blogger is fine for writing a blog, but has no community.

As a person who likes to rant more than 150 characters and post pictures that i do not want resized and a layout I can customize. I like the community and being to put all my RSS feeds and friends in one place. I can decide who can read and reply to your posts. Everything is neatly controlled and organized.

Thanks for including me in your list, David. Here are a few more 'live' journals that I don't believe are included so far that should be.

not too bad - I've been posting. I've started my personal journal at tmcm.com.

I have been following you there too, but I have been slightly resenting you for making me follow you at two different places. I understand an artist like yourself would want to be on as many social media outlets (especially a main website) as possible so people can see your art and links to where to buy your stuff. I just wish could pick one location and get it all. Oh well.

I hear you. I'm leaning more and more towards the www.tmcm.com website. LJ used to be really active with nice random people - but every week there seem to be less and less people. Using my own website is a trend toward isolationism and cult of personality that I avoid but I'm not sure.

That said, www.tmcm.com is the main place. I've only just started to build it up.
