Aug 16, 2006 20:28

well, I'm back...leaner than ever, oddly tanned and with legs of steel. 2 days ago I rolled into DC after nearly two and a half months cycling myself from San Francisco to Washington DC. More to come later, but to the guys who were down for doing some rides with me, contact me asap; I'm going crazy. After spending 8 hours a day biking, every day ( Read more... )

hey, you too man! Thanks again for the cycling cap! My retinas thank you! Around Utah my glasses broke, I bought contacts and I could wear cheap sunglasses that would get the upper part of my eyes that I couldn't when wearing my glasses. But, another rider in the group (another transguy actually!) also needed a cycling cap and he became the proud new owner of my sweaty, stinky cycling cap:). The ride was amazing. Like, life-changing amazing. I *HIGHLY* recommend that you take a tour and *SOON*. There really is nothing like seeing and experiencing the world from a bicycle seat. And on top of that, it really wasn't that hard to do. Yea, the mountains and desert were tough but they weren't impossible, at least not as impossible as I had made them out to be in my mind. I'm not too excited about being an adult now and not being on my bike all day, but I still have the weekends to do some longer rides on. If you're ever on the east coast, look me up! You have a place to stay in DC and if you're looking to do some bicycle rides ( ... )

that is so fucking rad that the cap moved on to another rider! we should have both written our names on it somewhere, kind of like a white bicycle (you know, like in holland) with a history.

i finally got my new bike just the other week and am dying to start my touring. when you write out your enteries please please please write some advice for people about to go on their first tour, that would be so awesome! and helpful to those of us about to start on this adventure.

Oh no! Did you send it to one of my mail stops or to my address at home? Here's my address in DC if you'd still like to send me something pretty:
1601 Argonne Pl NW Apt 538
Washington, DC 20009
You have a delightful summer? Starting school soon, or have you already started? Hey, you get the postcard I sent you?

I sent it to your mail stop in Kansas. I don't know why it didn't make it! :( I reckon I can send it to you in DC. My summer was ok, pretty uneventful for the most part. School started last week. I was originally going to get my Masters in Community Counseling but on Friday I changed it to a Masters in Public Affairs. What do you think of THAT? I think I'll be much happier. When does your school start? I did get your postcard and it made my day!

hell yea, lets bike! I haven't been on my bike in *gasp* almost 5 days. Oh, what has life come to! I have, I'll admit, been working on my track standing in my apartment, though that is a far cry from actually cycling. Have a particular rides in mind? Any particular length? What part of DC are you in? Anyway, shoot me an email at elijah.edelman@american.edu or reply here or call me at 202-615-1680 or walk around NW DC looking for a kid on a bright red bike.

Props to you for your awesome adventure. I can't wait to read more about it. I really enjoy biking, but haven't done anything nearly as bold, pretty casual right now (rider that is). I'm jealous, but I really want to build up my stamina in riding to do something like that.

Also on a side note: Hi, I'm Dutch. Nice chest surgery who did your work and do you mind if I add you?

Have a great one
