Crochet squares are good for tiny little portable projects.

Not quite ready for granny squares. I'm still practicising getting straight sides on my crochet. I'd quite like to make a market bag too. A string bag is always a fine thing. But I'm sure I'll get around to granny squares too. When I decide on the colourway I'd like to use! I googled free crochet patterns today and was *impressed* by the wide variety of styles and quality.

Even though macrame has a bit of strange reputation from the 70s - I did some during high school art and its heaps of fun :)

My association is macrame = macrame owls. I guess that's what I remember. Or daggy improvisational "wall art" of various sorts. Since it's really just knots that produce fabric, it should be no daggier than lace, knitting, netting or even woven cloth. I do like getting up a rhythm, and fiddling with string.

yay for craftiness. I'm not frozen and am less lurgified than yesterday for which I am thankful. I'm currently studiously ignoring the hem I can't decide how to fix-that I should be wearing on Saturday.

I'm not frozen either - tonight I didn't even need to put on a sweater in the cool of the evening. Good luck with your hem.
