TUTORIAL IV; Namine

Yay! Fourth tutorial. XD

First select your image. I chose a KH2 cap by mellowpeep.

Then I cropped it, sharpened it [ FILTER -> SHARPEN -> SHARPEN ].

I duplicated it once [ CTRL+J ] then I went to Image -> Adjustments -> Channel Mixer... clicked Monochrome, then OK. Set that layer to overlay, duplicate that layer and set to soft light. It shall leave you with something like:

Maybe darker. ^^ I then selected one of my Advent Children gradients (I'll put them up for download if anyone wants? xD)

and set it to Colour Burn which shall leave you with something like (or darker):

I selected one of my FF7-based light textures (will also be put up for download if anyone's interested? o.O) and set it to screen:

I erased the bit that was covering Namine's hair/chest.

Hide all the layers except for of course; the first.

I chose the eyedropper tool, picked a colour from her eyes. Make a new layer [ SHIFT+ CTRL+N ] and colour in what you want brighter (as I've done with her eyes). You may need to mess around with the levels a little to get them brighter. Make all the other layers visible and the "brighter" layer on top. edited: I also erased her eyes on the gradient layer~~ ^^;;

I added "wherever you are..." in Times New Roman, Size 1, Anti-Alias Smooth & Tracking to 1460 in black. Then "fragments" in #37518e Times New Roman, Size 7, Tracking 200 & Anti-Alias Smooth.

Other icons made with this effect: ( the eyes/brightening part I left out. And..crappier but I think that's because I done them quicker. XD But I'm sure yours will turn out better~! X3 )

If you like any of the icons and want to take (ermm..) then comment & credit. ^^;
