what scares me a bit is that persephone is the greek goddess of the underworld.

she was tricked by hades into being his wife and staying with him in the underworld. her mom, demeter, became horribly depressed in her search for her daughter (plauges ensued, etcetcwhatev) and eventually they came to a compromise that she would spend part of the year in the underworld with hades and part of the year above with her mom. she's an allegory for the seasons. haha i could go deeper into this but it's not necessary. i took a greek mythology course last qaurter and aced that ish.
