Fannish Things

Dec 15, 2016 20:09

1. I am now an impatient Yuletider, waiting to have a present to shake! (Where O where is my fic; it's not as if the Deadline is yet to come and I'm being unreasonable! Oh, wait, yes I am...) I am also waiting for two other people to have gifts to I can post their treats. (Which technically I can do anyway, one way or the other, but I'll wait ( Read more... )

I am now an impatient Yuletider

I have absolutely no sympathy for you, because you got to read my Public Call fic weeks before I did! :p

(But it was excellent, so well done on the beta!)

Yes, but I still want a present of my very own to shake!

And, aha, yes, I did. It was pretty funny. And, heh, I don't think you'll need me to tell you that this beta did very little more than highlight a typo or two and thoroughly enjoy the read. I went so far as to say, "Yep, I'm pretty sure dbskyler will love this!"

LOL, yes, the two of you know what I like! :)

And okay, you do deserve a gift to shake. I hope it shows up soon!

Lots of things, but Sarah + Doctor + Hug is always a good thing to include! ;-)

It did, I have! It turned up earlier this evening! Shaking produces very exciting results! *trails in shreds of Yuletide tinsel*

Fannish things ahoy. :) I'm amazed anybody gets any sleep in December!

Speaking of fannish things, have you seen this?: http://networkonair.com/shop/2242-probation-officer-volume-1-5027626437442.html It looks fascinating. And check out the list of guest stars!

Well, fannish things are often quite small, really! It's all the rl activities that are the trouble. :-)

That does like interesting, yes! I wonder which of the episodes have survived, though? I'll have to keep an eye out for it, though, especially if either the two Alfred Burke eps exist (and Anneke Wills and Avril Elgar got a couple of appearances, too).

This set is the earliest twelve episodes that survive, apparently. Alfred Burke did episodes #4 and #5 according to the IMDb, and according to the BBFC, this set includes episodes 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 14, 15, 16 & 22. So presumably #4 is missing. Anneke Wills appeared later, so might conceivably crop up on a later set. Ditto Avril Elgar. William Hartnell appeared in #28, apparently, which would be nice to see one day, if it still exists! (Lost Shows thinks it does, although there's some discrepancy there re: #1 and #20). Melvyn Hayes and Michael Crawford both appear in episodes on this set, according to the IMDb. Also Stratford Johns. Sadly Paul Eddington's and Geoffrey Palmer's episodes seem to be missing.

One to keep an eye out for in the sales, anyway! :)

Aw, cool. Thank you. That'll be why they released it, then - they love Alfie at Network! (They just need to also love James Maxwell nearly as much, and then the world will be at least a slightly better place.)

And, yes. Certainly cast-wise - and it's very early for any of it to have survived and not be ITC. It has a novelty value for that alone I think.

Should my Musie ever show Her face again, I shall have to revisit my prompts and get them !@#%ing finished!! Oi...

I think everyone is getting impatient for Yuletide, lovie. So you're in good company!

Aww, pfft. Or scrap that table and get another! The shiny wears off after a while, doesn't it? ;-)

I know! (I just want a present to shake now, where is it, o where is it? Are they cursing me somewhere even now as they struggle to write my rambling prompts and likes?)

I got bored the other day and had a shake and no presents or mystery fic in my fandoms either. I'm convinced I've sent droves of pinch hitters to be eaten by bears!

But no! They like your letter on _coal! It can't be that. It must just be rl Bears causing trouble. I'm sure something will magically appear soon. Mine has! Present shaking suggest's it's very enticing-looking Dracula fic. :-)

(Logic has little to do with the irrational: "But where is my gift?" feels, though, I know.)

They have (after last year's Yuletide I discovered unrevealed fics turn up in 'gifts' on AO3)! V. exciting \o/ Eight sleeps to go!

I saw your 'Dracula' in a fandom stocking too: vampires are irresistible, as well as snowflakes;)

I know, right?? I have gift people bookmarked so I can easily check whether I can post treats yet :) SO EXCITING.

Indeed! Why are their writers not hurrying up just so I can post and be done with it? Heh. But I have a gift now! It appeared yesterday evening and present shaking produces most promising results! :-)

(Bookmarking is a sensible plan, although my browser at least autofills the names for me now on AO3's search, but that's a better idea till it's done.)

I still don't have a fic to shake :(

Yay, I've just been able to post my second treat. It's fun getting down to deadline.

Heh, and I have a gift, but can't post either treat! I'm sure your Dear Author will come through! :-)
