1. I defaulted on Not For Prime Time. I know by now I shouldn't sign up for exchanges, excepting only Yuletide (because once a year come hell or high water to see how it goes is a good thing) and possbly Remix (because it works differently). But of course I love exchanges and it's hard to remember that they don't mix well with being ill even in ( Read more... )

Aw, I'm sorry NPT didn't come together for you *hugs*. Sometimes being well can't get fic written either:S At least you've had a small victory over your family research.

More cake fic \o/

Well, life can always defeat a person, but by and large I can make myself sit down and write - I can't do that when I'm ill. And then stress happens. It's a thing. Whcih I know only too well by now, except I get tempted by exchanges, because I love them. When well.

Indeed! I knew you'd be proud of me. Never mind defaulting as long as there was cake. :-)

As long as there's cakefic nothing else matters!;)

Aw, thank you! I'll assume, since you were looking for fic, that you continued to enjoy it? (Well, 'enjoy' in the sense used for something that is often pretty tragic in many ways.) I was also going to say that Hyarrowen has also written a couple of excellent fics, too, but since EatD fandom on AO3 is not large, I'll assume you could also work that out for yourself too.

*hugs* I find exchanges like that sometimes. Maybe when you're feeling healthier, you can write the idea anyway and give somebody a random, fun surprise. :)

Hurrah for doing useful things!

Indeed, although right now I have to consider the idea dead and forgotten and pushed away somewhere. Forever. Otherwise I will just get stressed about writing it as a treat instead.

I will focus on my freedom and write more of my prompt ficlets, which are being v fun. :-)

I'm not sure how useful family history is, but if I can get a little bit more well, it is possible I might be able to write an article with it and get some money, which would be nice. But it's interesting, anyway.

Arrrghhh. I'm sorry, honey. I have a bad habit of doing the same thing, you know? And even as I have to drop out, I find myself signing up again! *headdesk* We'll get it all worked out one day. And then do ALL THE FICATHONS. *nods*

*HUGS*

Yes, one day we will do ALL THE FICATHONS. *nods* Thanks! And I just need to keep it to ficathons where I already have the story done before I sign up, or Remix, which seems to be okay, and Yuletide, because Yuletide. And NOTHING ELSE, self!

Sorry to hear you had to give up on something you were looking forward to. Still, you could always write it another time, for yourself. Shame to waste a good idea! And then it could be entirely at your own pace, and relaxed and without pressure.

Glad to hear that you've been family historying again though! You always sound as though you really enjoy that, and it's remarkable what you've found so far! :)

I'm mostly just annoyed with myself for not knowing better than to sign up, but I feel better now I defaulted anyway. I shall feel guilty again if I get fic, but maybe I won't. We'll see.

I do enjoy the family history! It's rather fun to poke around in small corners of history that I'm probably the only one looking at & seeing what I find. Mostly labourers, but somebody's got to investigate all those salt of the earth types...

Quite. They're the ones who build the world, anyway. The rich and famous type just think that they do!
