Summer Talking Meme #4

Well, it's being a bit of a rubbish day (& I keep layout-hopping, sorry; I don't think I've finished yet, either), so what better than a completely self-indulgent question from the Summer Talking Meme? It reminds me that sometimes I make things that I like...

So, from femme_slash_fan: My favourite fiction I've written so far and why.Oh, Gosh. I mean, it ( Read more... )

Aw, thank you! I actually thought, after I switched the pc off and went to bed, that I really should have had Shelved on this list, because it was just such a joy to make up all the libraries!

This one: http://www.whofic.com/viewstory.php?sid=24274

'Only Visiting This Planet' - it absolutely killed me the first time I read it, and still does, truth be told.

Awww. ♥

I do remember that you really liked that one! And I'm still v fond of your Liz + Eight fic (and its sequels).

I do really like that one - its themes feel epic, and at the same time, personal.

Thank you - I had fun writing Liz and Eight!

Silver meets a lady in a bedroom, Silver and Steel shelve CDs and the big DW mass orgy that isn't an orgy are faves. I'm terrible at titles!

Ahaha, for a minute there I thought you were trying to describe one story and I was pretty sure I'd never written any such things! (And two of those were meme fics and probably didn't have titles. The not-really-an-orgy-orgy one might have, but the CD one didn't. The other is called Intersection & I'm glad, because that was definitely one I was really pleased with for a while.)

I'm thinking "describe (my) fics as Friends episodes" would make a fun meme.

Or plotbunny you with Friends-style summaries of fic you didn't write but might have done. "The One With Tilly And The Teasmade", &c.

Ha, yes, although that one very nearly exists already in a couple of variations. :-)

Pesky people, those readers, aren't they? Passing over the fic you've toiled weeks and months over, in favour of some insubstantial ficlet :-)

I think my faves would include A Gallifreyan at Blandings (for the skill of the Wodehouse pastiche) and Jo Grant, Assassin For Hire (because it's hilarious).

Heh, I don't toil over many of them half enough, I think! If I'd known, I would have taken longer than half an hour to write that particular ficlet, though. :-)

And, aw, well, those two are fun ones. If I was listing my best fics, A Gallifreyan at Blandings would be at the top of my list. However, in retrospect, I feel a bit as if someone else wrote that and I'm not quite sure how it happened, so I don't have that fondness for it as I do for fics that were, well, probably rather more id-ish in some ways.
