Fic: Something in the Wiring

Oct 22, 2014 20:06

This is a bit of an odd one, but it gets me a bingo, and it's apparently what happens when I realise I could get a bingo a different way if I could only think of something for "suicide attempt" and then enlist the help of Sapphire & Steel. But, um, yes...

They're so frighteningly other sometimes (all the time)...

Very good fic. Creepy and spot-on with the dialogue and good handling of something that could easily have left a bad-taste-in-mouth. I like Sapphire's rebuff of Steel and Silver at the end, and what she says about possibilities. Very affecting. Thanks for sharing.

They are, aren't they? :-)

I'm glad you liked it & especially that it wasn't going too far with what it was about, because it was an odd one, I know, & I'm still not entirely happy with it. (But then S&S is rather like that. Last year for hc_bingo, I had a plane crash square and was like "Who would write that?" and then immediately wrote it for S&S, because you can kind of do things like that with S&S.) Anyway, it completed my bingo. (I have a parallel diagonal. *nods*)

That works remarkably well. I almost hesitate to say that I enjoyed it, out of respect for the poor doomed human, but it was definitely good. :)

Thank you! (You're allowed to enjoy it if you want; the poor human is entirely fictional and won't mind. I can say that, because I made him up. ;-p)
