Some sad Six-era news...

Apparently Maggie Stables who played Evelyn Smythe, Six's lovely and awesome audio companion, has just died.

And just to be really cheerful on the subject of Six-era ladies, also in the news this weekend, was Lynda Bellingham, who is dying of cancer. (She's stopping her chemotherapy in November, and the timing should give her one last Christmas ( Read more... )

Dammit!! I loved the Inquistor!! And this is doubly sad, because I have not had the pleasure of meeting Evelyn yet...

I was already aware of the very sad news as regards Lynda Bellingham, but didn't know about Maggie Stables until reading it here. That is sad - I'm not by any means fully up to speed with the audios, but those that I have heard with Evelyn always made me think that she was a companion who could have held her own in the TV series. Very sad. :(

I was so sorry to read this news on Tumblr. When I read about Maggie Stables, I just gave this wee little "ohh" sound, and didn't exactly cry, certainly not the way BF's "A Death in the Family" got me tearful, but... *sigh* Too sad.

I was sorry to read about Lynda Bellingham yesterday. Cancer is a horrible disease. I wish there was more that could be done to help her. :o(

I loved her in Faith in the Future. It was such a fun, joyful sitcom with things always ending up okay.
