That was sweet. I do like the idea of Janeway being in a relationship with her ship.

Thank you! I kept wanting to do something with that prompt, but it never worked out until I had the notion of Voyager being the "star", rather than Janeway.

And it's canon, I swear. (I think I'd just been watching the bit where everything's going wrong and Voyager's not doing what they want, and she talks to the console and promises the ship that if it'll just do this, she'll set it down on a nearby planet and give it a nice overhaul the first chance she gets... and Voyager obliges.)

(Although if Janeway thinks other captains don't have a two-way rapport with the ship, she's never read Jim Kirk's memoirs...)

And it's *cough* probably more the case that this author doesn't know much Star Trek beyond Voyager, but I'm pretty sure that Janeway would still think Voyager was special, because she's her ship, after all. Enterprise was probably a grudging second, though, for historical value. But not the same. :-)
