Every now and again, I look at my AO3 stats - just out of curiosity.

Well, it is interesting, every now and then, isn't it? :-)

Well done, for all the Public Eye hits. All you need to do is write a Miss Marple crossover and AO3 domination is yours!

I was very surprised about the Public Eye hits, but since the amount of kudos doesn't match up, presumably most people landed on it and were scared off by my obscurity. But still, I was surprised. :-)

I should work on the Miss Marple thing, because past experience shows that she is my key to being even half popular.

Perhaps there is an arcane secret society of PE fans?

We'll all be bunging in random Miss Marples to artificially inflate our hit rate;p

I suspect it's just Doctor Who fans, drawn by multi-era and then running away again in horror at the Public Eye. :-)

More Miss Marple can't be a bad thing, though.

Clearly, I need to aim for a Miss Marple pwns somebody ficlet once a year now if I want to retain any sort of popularity.
So is this, like, Miss Marple does ju-jitsu? Miss Marple kicks arse and takes names? *absolutely has to go and investigate*

Well, not so much. She just casually defeats Dracula and does knitting. (He reminded her of someone she knew, obviously.)

Excellent statistics. Well done! And of course the world needed "Public Eye" fanfic! Quite honestly, given the seemingly character-driven nature of it, it's perfect for fic. What you need is for it to be re-made for a modern audience. *quickly runs and hides* ;)

As for Miss Marple vs Dracula, that is absolutely what the internet has been crying out for. I'm half tempted to suggest that she take on the Daleks next.

No, no, I think that, too, quite passionately, but then I have reservations. A show that's an outsider POV, a way of telling ordinary stories that don't get told elsewhere - every decade and place could use one, and wouldn't it be wonderful? And keeping with the honesty that's both hard and compassionate at the same time.

But i fear if someone remade it, they'd just remake it & it'd be a series about Frank Marker (which, I know, technically it is, but it also isn't). Though, on the other hand, if they wanted to straight refilm S4 without changing anything, they could go ahead. I'd have issues with it, but hey, they really could ( ... )
