Fanvid: Effifgy (Shadow of the Tower)

I made a proper fanvid for Shadow of the Tower (with thanks to akashasheiress who - accidentally - gave me the song and made it possible).

It's a good tune. And you make it work with the images from the series, which really does look worth a watch. Another one for the list, then.

Thank you! I was quite pleased with it, although possibly it is an accidentally ridiculous thing, what with the telephones. :-)

And, heh, I don't know - if you want to watch a 1970s BBC Tudor historical, I recommend Elizabeth R! Shadow of the Tower I just liked for me, and wanted to vid. I really don't know if other people would like that one. (But cool if you want to watch a version of that era and don't mind two duff episodes with epically dodgy accents in the middle.)

:-)

I didn't find the telephone thing particularly distracting - it didn't pull me out of the vid or anything.

Henry VII and his era do interest me, perhaps moreso than the later Tudors, and you know, dodgy accents and 70s telly-isms don't really put me off things - quite the opposite, sometimes. ;D But it is a very, very long list by now, and I doubt I'll ever get around to watching all of the old things I want to watch...

I may have done it before, but I recommend Winter King by Thomas Penn for a decent biography on Henry VII. It talks more about his politics than his actual life/personality, but it's the only modern biography really focusing on his reign that I know of. You do, however get a few remarkably touching glimpses of him as a husband and father.

That was interesting and really well done. The clips you picked really fitted the lyrics. I liked the song too, which I hadn't heard before. As for obscure, I should think people who are into Tudor history would be pleased to find a fanvid like yours.

Like jjpor, I'm getting interested in seeing that series. I really do like Tudor history but so much of it focuses on Henry VIII and his wives or his children, so Henry VII is really overshadowed.

I'm also still thinking about Poldark. ::is still blaming Lost Spook for that one too:: ;oD

Aw, thank you. And, yes, I'm quite pleased with it and I do think it was worth doing. I'll have to post it to a comm - maybe bbccostumedrama or somewhere.

Heh, well, I think as long as you're prepared for dodgy old TV, that's okay! I'm just aware that it was some v particular things about it that appealed to me that wouldn't to many other people so I wouldn't rec it as I would something like Elizabeth R.

I'm not sorry about Poldark at all. I really enjoyed watching it!! ;-p

I did indeed! Oh, and more fuel for my 'hypothetical' Tudor dynasty fanmix (this song is totally about Henry):
